The service started in the 1950's as a family business and with increasing
demand for transshipment in Beirut of large construction & oil equipment
destined to Gulf countries. From 1950 till mid of seventies, Mr. Georges Salim Abouzeid controlled a large amount of shipments for Aramco & Tapline (Trans-Arabian Pipeline Co).
During the Lebanese war, more interest was given to the local market.
"Cargomaster Abouzeid & Co s.a.l" was founded in 1985 and is since then devoted to all Air & Sea forwarding, international household removals, project equipment, door to door deliveries, exhibition activities, warehousing and distribution."Master Line s.a.r.l" was established in 1987 as NVOCC Air & Sea
consolidation and chartering activities.
"Beirut Overseas Agency s.a.r.l." was established in 1991 and appointed as shipping and consolidation agency.
In 1992, the group merged with the oldest forwarding company in the Middle East "Levant Express Transport s.a.l" (established in 1930). 100 percent of the shares were transferred by the Schenker organization with which the group does not have any relationship any more. We are now contemplating the reopening of "LET" offices in Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, and Baghdad.
Having assembled a team of specialized people with many years of experience in the forwarding industry, our aim is to offer a wide range of high quality and competitive services. Our various transport activities are constantly being expanded and matched by our desire to be of service to our customers and agents.
All above mentioned companies belonging to the "Cargomaster Group of
Companies" are located in a modern and computerized office of 400 Sqmnear Beirut port. Two warehouses are at the disposal of our customers, in Furn El Chebback (on the way to Beirut Int’l Airport) and in Adonis Jounieh (1500
Sqm).
